    A practicing lawyer in Shanghai and working towards a Master degree in law at Renmin University in China, Mr. Zhou Dan has been actively involved with the emerging Tongzhi communities in Shanghai for many years. He is the founding member of Shanghai Hotline For Sexual Minorities, the first legitimate entity in Shanghai dedicated to building and serving the LGBT community. Hotline provides services that include HIV/AIDS education, counseling, legal assistance, outreach, networking, skill-building, and community-building. Mr. Zhou has been Hotline’s legal advisor and counselor ever since its founding in April, 2003.

Mr. Zhou is also a columnist and frequent contributor for Ai Qing Bai Pi Shu – Zhong Hua Tong Zhi Wang (Love White Book - Chinese Gay and Lesbian Web), one of the long-standing and high-trafficked gay websites in Chinese. He has been interviewed many times by newspaper and on-line magazines on Chinese gay issues.

Mr. Zhou Dan is now a visiting scholar at Yale Law School.
